This Department is responsible for all employment issues within the City of Lafayette and currently supports 19 Departments with a total employment of over 500 employees.

Human Resources is responsible for the administration of employee benefit programs such as health insurance, including medical, dental, and vision; life insurance and retirement plans. These benefits are administered for active and former employees.

Employment opportunities are made available through the job posting process. All job postings may be found in the City Hall bulletin boards located on both the first and second floors of the building and within each of the Departments. Jobs are posted as they become available and applications are accepted in the Human Resources Office located on the second floor of City Hall.

Any external job postings may also be found through the employment page and may be advertised with various agencies throughout the community.  List of job postings available. Resumes, cover letters, and applications can be delivered in person to Human Resources, mailed to Lafayette City Hall attn Human Resources, and are also accepted by e-mail in PDF and Microsoft word formats.  The new Application for General Employment allows you to fill out and save the completed PDF to your computer.  E-mail the HR department with your filled out Application and save yourself postage and worrying if it was delivered on time and addressed correctly.

Many other aspects of employment are maintained and administered from within the Human Resources Department. They include: Personnel Policies and Procedures, Salary Administration, Union/Labor Relations, Training, and Performance Management.
