Mat Pilates
WEST ACTIVE offers Mat Pilates classes for adults on Thursday evenings. Pilates is one of the fastest growing exercise workouts and is practiced daily by millions of Americans. Through a series of core, back, leg and arm exercises, this class is designed to strengthen and build lean muscles without bulk. Enjoy the multiple benefits of Pilates: flattened abs, relief from back and joint pain, increased energy, improved posture, and more. Leave this class feeling both strengthened and refreshed!
 
Fall Session: August 19 - November 18 (sign up for the full 14 weeks or a shorter session!)
When: Thursday Evenings 6:30 - 7:30 p.m.
Tuition: $11 per class (due each 4 weeks)

Adult Volleyball
Bump, set, spike! McAllister Recreation Center offers this program twice a year during the spring and fall. A tournament is held at the end of the session to determine league champions. Championship t-shirts are provided. All team must have a minimum of 6 players, 3:3 ratio of males to females.
2010 Fall Adult Volleyball:

Registration Deadline: September 30
League Play: October 14-December 16
Registration Fee: $125 per team

Summer and Fall Tennis
Lafayette Parks and Recreation and the Greater Lafayette Tennis Association conduct tennis classes for adults at various department tennis courts during the spring, summer, and fall. For more information, please click here to visit the GLTA website. Registration is limited.

Yoga
Looking for an alternative fitness program? The McAllister Recreation Center and instructor Shari Gass are offering a variety of yoga classes at McAllister this year. Shari also offers beginner and intermediate classes to best fit your needs. Hatha Yoga combines the postures and breathing techniques to achieve flexibility, strength, balance, and calmness of mind.
