![]() Lafayette Parks and Recreation offers FREE bowling throughout the summer at participating bowling alleys. Growing in popularity, bowling is an exciting way to spend your summer afternoon. Shoes and lanes are provided and the program meets six times a summer on Friday afternoons from 12:00pm to 3:00pm at three Lafayette bowling alleys: Market Square Lanes, Star Lanes, and Mike Aulbey's Arrowhead Bowl. Children ten and under need to be accompanied by an older family member. 2011 Dates: TBA |
| Cross Country and Track & Field Start stretching now because Lafayette Parks and Recreation and the Lafayette School Corporation are offering this program to boys and girls ages 3-14. The program meets during the month of June for one hour per day, five days a week. Children will participate in the City meet and have the opportunity to advance to the State Hershey Track and Field meet. For more information, please contact McAllister Center at (765) 807-1360 by May 1. This program is facilitated by Lafayette School Corporation. | Flag Football Are you ready for some flag football? Flag football is offered by Lafayette Parks and Recreation and the Lafayette School Corporation for boys and girls ages 6-9. The program is held at Tecumseh Middle School and Jefferson High School. 2010 Flag Football Registration Dates: July 28 and August 25 at Jeff High School gym Practice Dates: Begin September 2 League Play: September 12-October 17 Cost: $35 per child |
Summer and Fall Tennis Get your rackets ready because Lafayette Parks and Recreation and the Greater Lafayette Tennis Association offer tennis classes for children at various department tennis courts during the spring, summer, and fall. Youth Basketball This exciting program is offered for boys and girls ages 6-11. This program runs twice per year during the spring and fall. 2010 Fall Basketball Registration Deadline: October 2 League Play: October 23-December 18 Registration Fee: $40 per child |
| Dance Classes WEST ACTIVE'S 'Pro-Arts Program' offers Dance Classes for ages 3 years through 5th grade. Kids can explore the expressive and energetic styles of Ballet, Jazz, Modern, or Creative Movement. Students can learn new skills that also support their developmental growth. Classes will be held on Monday and Tuesday afternoons and Wednesday mornings with a regular "Show Times" throughout the session! Class size is limited, so sign up today to hold your place! 2010 Dance Classes Fall Session: August 9 - December 15 (sign up for the full 18 weeks or a shorter session!) Little dancers get an inside peak into a real ballerina's life as they learn ballet steps and see special shoes and costumes, as well as view clips of stage performances. Children can explore ballet through props, stories, crafts, and special activities!
